Pakistan COAS, Afghan envoy hopeful for more warm brotherly bilateral relations

RAWALPINDI: On Thursday Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on held a meeting with new Afghan Ambassador Najibullah Alikhil. Chief of Army Staff welcomed the new Afghan Ambassador Najibullah Alikhil.

COAS remarked that his services would help optimize Pak-Afghan bilateral relations.

ISPR stated that during the meeting COAS and Afghan Ambassador the matters of mutual interest including regional security situation, ongoing Afghan Peace Process, border management, and defence and security cooperation were discussed.

During the meeting, both the sides noted the exceptional brotherly relations between the two countries and pledged to further improve the same.

In addition to this, Chief of Army Staff also held meeting with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider. Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Army Staff reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s maximum support and commitment to the Kashmir cause and the people of Kashmir.

Other than this, Director General ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar remarked that during the meeting between dignitaries, the matters of situation on Line of Control and in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, mutual interests were profoundly discussed.
