{"id":586,"date":"2022-09-08T14:45:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-08T14:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sensationsocial.com\/?p=586"},"modified":"2022-09-23T13:34:53","modified_gmt":"2022-09-23T13:34:53","slug":"joshua-responds-to-tyson-fury-callout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sensationsocial.com\/?p=586","title":{"rendered":"Joshua responds to Tyson Fury callout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The crestfallen heavyweight is open to a showdown with the \u2018Gypsy King\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anthony Joshua has indicated that he is open to a best of British heavyweight boxing clash by responding to a callout from domestic rival and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.<\/p>\n<p>According to promoter Frank Warren, London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Joshua \u2013 who is currently licking his wounds after a second consecutive title defeat to Aleksandr Usyk \u2013 will receive a fight offer as early as Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian Usyk relieved Joshua of his\u00a0WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles in London in September 2021 by beating him on all three judges\u2019 scorecards, and then won a closer split decision over \u2018AJ\u2019 in Jeddah last month.<\/p>\n<p>This development saw Fury come out of retirement after hanging his gloves up twice since knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, and then call out Usyk on Friday for a duel to crown the four-belt era\u2019s first-ever undisputed heavyweight champion.<\/p>\n<p>Accusing Usyk of being reluctant to face him, however, Fury has since turned his attentions to Joshua, who swiftly stepped up to the challenge.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYeah, calm,\u201d<\/em> Joshua wrote on Twitter while quote-tweeting a Fury post.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI don\u2019t do the online discussions just for clout,\u201d<\/em> he added in a dig at the Mancunian. <em>\u201cSo if [you\u2019re] really about it shout 258mgt [Joshua\u2019s management company]. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ll be ready in December,\u201d<\/em> Joshua vowed, before signing off with: <em>\u201cKhalas,\u201d<\/em> an Arabic phrase meaning <em>\u201cenough\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Yea calm. I got the date and venue who will rule Britannia?\u201d<\/em> Fury added.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate social media video address, Fury also teased that he would be \u201c<em>fighting soon, within the next few months<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI think that before I announce an opponent, that I need to do this just in case,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Fury went on.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAnthony Joshua, I know you\u2019ve just lost a fight to Usyk and you\u2019re belt-less at the moment. If not, I will select another opponent,<\/em>\u201d Fury signed off.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile on Tuesday morning, Joshua\u2019s promotor and Matchroom head Eddie Hearn has revealed that he has already touched bases with Fury\u2019s camp, or more specifically the son of his UK representative Frank Warren, George, about the clash and it taking place at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPersonally I don\u2019t feel Fury is serious, but if he is, as I said to the Warrens last night, 100% we will sit down and make the fight,\u201d<\/em> Hearn insisted to TalkSport.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI would love to get really excited about this,\u201d<\/em> Hearn\u00a0admitted.\u00a0<em>\u201cBecause it\u2019s the fight that I get stopped in street for more than any fight that could be made, and it\u2019s a fight that AJ has wanted for a long time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDon\u2019t forget, we signed for this fight last year before the arbitration forced the Deontay Wilder fight for Tyson Fury,\u201d<\/em> Hearn reminded the boxing public, with an agreement for two superfights said to have been penned before Fury had to face Wilder for the third time and Usyk overturned the applecart by beating Joshua.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSo it\u2019s an interesting one, because last week he retired, then he came back to fight Usyk, then he made an offer to Derek Chisora, then he wanted half a billion, then he\u2019d retired again, then he\u2019s fighting Usyk in December and now he\u2019s fighting AJ,\u201d<\/em> Hearn continued.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe message is quite clear from AJ, we don\u2019t want to get involved in a backwards and forwards, we want the fight, it\u2019s the fight he\u2019s wanted for a long time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe had plans after the Usyk defeat to come back in December and then go again in March, get active and get the rhythm going again and then try and fight for the world heavyweight title.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBut, I know having spoken to AJ, if that fight is there and they\u2019re serious, which I have my doubts about, but for the good of trying to make it happen let\u2019s believe Tyson Fury and I said to George Warren last night, get the details and the offer over to us and I\u2019ll take it to AJ, he\u2019s ready to go,\u201d<\/em> Hearn demanded.<\/p>\n<p>Wasting no time, Fury has already reacted to these remarks from Hearn and said:<em> \u201cThis is [an] easy fight to make, normal champion to challenger privileges and I\u2019m 100% serious.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLet\u2019s rumble UK,\u201d<\/em> Fury added.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, Warren revealed to TalkSport that an offer would be sent over to Joshua for a November meeting.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe terms we are gonna put forward I think are very, very fair.
